Version 4.3.8.2 of the Amazfit T-Rex 3 firmware is making its rounds, and it’s a fairly big one. The update adds new pace metrics, support for Stryd sensors, voice memo recording during workouts and improves how terrain maps behave when changing direction.
This is a fairly hefty update and it brings many features that T-Rex 3 Pro is getting via its own refresh. Both of these seem to be rolling out at the same time.
New pace metrics and smoother map performance
Let’s start off the Equivalent Pace and Average Equivalent Pace metrics. These now appear under the Outdoor and Trail Running workout modes. Their aim to give a better sense of effort-based pacing, especially on uneven terrain or varying gradients.
Terrain map performance has also been refined. Rotation when changing direction is now much smoother, which should help with route clarity on the move. For indoor cyclists, there’s support for external speed, cadence and power sensors. Also now available is manual distance entry after finishing a session.
Voice memos and Stryd integration
You can now record short voice memos during workouts. These are saved at the bottom of the workout entry. In the Zepp Health app, they’re transcribed automatically and can even pull out contextual details like exercise type, number of reps and weights used.
The update also brings full support for Stryd sensors during HYROX Race workouts. This means you can view and record pace data directly from Stryd, both on the watch and in the workout timeline inside the app. The Zepp app will also now display HYROX Zone time for these sessions.
Zepp Coach, screenshot upgrades and other tweaks
Navigation during workouts now defaults to “Advance up,” making the on-screen route direction match your actual movement more intuitively. If you had manually changed your navigation view before, your setting will stay in place. The update also improves the screenshot tool, letting users take up to 20 screenshots even if the watch is offline, with temporary local storage.
Other updates include more accurate turn reminders during navigation, improved altitude algorithms, and an updated segment count on the lap alert screen. Zepp Coach can now skip a workout or adjust the rest of the week’s schedule with a tap. There’s also a minor tweak to how distances are displayed in imperial units: short distances show in feet, longer ones in miles.
The previous update to the T-Rex 3 (version 4.3.7.1) came just a month ago. That one introduced a flashlight gesture, new battery indicator style, and tweaks to GPS accuracy. This latest version builds on that with more workout-centric features and better compatibility with third-party sensors.
Zepp Health is at CES 2026 showing off a few devices. Headlining its presentation is the newly released Amazfit Active Max. A few other interesting additions are there including a Amazfit Helio Glasses concept along with food tracking V1Tal.
