A new system update has landed for the Amazfit T-Rex 3, and it brings podcast playback along with a raft of bug fixes. The package version 4.4.1.3 is fairly lightweight at just over 11MB.
Podcast app lands on the T-Rex 3
The main addition this time around is a native Podcast app. This lets users transfer audio files directly from the Zepp Health app and play them straight on the watch. For anyone used to syncing music, the workflow will feel familiar. It offers a convenient way to listen on the go without needing a phone, provided you’ve got Bluetooth earbuds paired to the watch.

This addition also suggests a broader move by Zepp Health to shift more media functionality directly onto the device. Previously, music control was available, but podcast syncing wasn’t supported in this way.
Key fixes across workouts and UI
The rest of the update is mostly polish, but it should make a difference to day-to-day use. Distance tracking during rucking workouts had been showing 0 for some users, which is now resolved. Lag when selecting track lanes has also been addressed, likely improving the experience for those who use the Track Run mode frequently.
Display glitches on the workout start page for certain activities have been cleaned up. Zepp Health has also corrected muscle group highlighting in strength templates, which was previously showing the wrong zones.
There are several navigation-related fixes too. The “Return to Start” feature has been made more reliable, and abnormal behaviour during mid-workout re-routing has been resolved. These tweaks should help during hiking or trail runs where route corrections are more common.
Performance-wise, the update also eliminates page stuttering in certain places. The interface on the T-Rex 3 has always been responsive for the most part, but minor lags could creep in depending on activity or watch face.

A slew of updates
Zepp Health has been on a roll in the past few months with a slew of updates. The T-Rex 3 alone has received 2 or 3 big ones. While this one is not a massive overhaul, the addition of the Podcast app is a bonus and points to Zepp Health continuing to flesh out offline media options. Whether music or spoken word, being able to go phone-free on runs or hikes is always welcome.
