March is upon us, and like the regenerative days and months that lie ahead, Prime Video has unleashed a brand cornucopia of new movies and TV shows to entertain us. The streaming giant just dropped more than 80 new titles that include new Amazon original movies, TV shows, and specials, as well as a pile of new seasons of some of the most anticipated shows of the season.
Subscribers to Prime Video can look forward to some glossy, marquee-worthy content starring some Hollywood heavy-hitters. For starters is Guy Ritchie, who’s delving back into the world of Sherlock Holmes with a fresh new take on the classic character. Young Sherlock (March 4) is a new eight-episode adventure-mystery origins series starring Hero Fiennes Tiffin, nephew of actors Ralph and Joseph Fiennes, the latter of whom also plays Sherlock’s dad in the series.
Also highly anticipated is Nicole Kidman, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Bobby Cannavale’s forensics crime thriller Scarpetta (March 11), as well as a comedic new sci-fi drama created by and starring Riz Ahmed called Bait (March 25). Additionally, some returning series include season four of Invincible (March 18), season two of Deadloch (March 20), and season two of House of David (March 27).
On the original movie front, there’s some excitement mounting for Pretty Lethal (March 25), a campy action-thriller about a group of ballerinas who must fight for their lives to escape a roadside inn and its twisted owner, played by Uma Thurman. Of course, there’s also a boatload of licensed movies coming to Prime Video in March, highlights of which include Superbad, Raging Bull, Rain Man, all the Shrek movies, Parenthood, The Silence of the Lambs, 12 Monkeys, and many more.
Additionally, Prime Video has the requisite NBA games throughout the month as the regular season winds down and playoff season begins. Let’s go, March!
