Ultrahuman is looking to address a key pain point of owning a smart ring: battery life, with its new Ring Pro. The company is claiming a 15-day battery life, which is a significant upgrade over the previous generation models. The smart ring will ship with a new Pro Charging case that’ll provide an additional 45 days of battery life. Beyond the battery, Ultrahuman says it has re-engineered the Ring Pro from the ground up.
Ultrahuman Ring Pro promises up to 15 days of battery life
Significant battery improvements aside, the Ultrahuman Ring Pro also focuses on performance. The company notes that the older hardware had been pushed to its limit, mainly in terms of the data it could process. To that extent, the Ring Pro features a dual-core processor with on-device machine learning to better process your body data. The memory has also been increased. It can now hold up to 250 days of data before it needs to sync with your smartphone.
There are other upgrades, like a redesigned heart-rate sensor that improves signalling during sleep and recovery. Additionally, the ring is also easier to cut apart during emergencies, like if your finger or its battery begins to swell.
In addition to offering 45 days of additional battery, the Pro Charging case features an integrated speaker, wireless charging, an LED indicator that displays battery status, and a proximity tracker that allows users to find the device via the Ultrahuman app.
New Jade AI platform
Ultrahuman is also unveiling its new “real-time biointelligence AI” platform, Jade. This can pull real-time actionable health data insights and even “start breathwork or trigger atrial fibrillation (AFib) detection.” Future updates will apparently expand Jade’s abilities to do “much more.” These will include proactively flagging health concerns before they occur. Smart home controls like changing room temperature and even ordering food will be in the mix.
The basic idea here is that Jade will keep tabs on your health, pulling in data from the ring, M1 continuous glucose monitor, and environmental stats from your Ultrahuman Home. It isn’t clear when these additional features would arrive. But what we know is that Jade will be available globally to all Ultrahuman users, including the US.
Price, availability
If all this sounds quite interesting and you live outside of the US, you can pre-order the Ultrahuman Ring Pro for $479. The shipments will begin in March. It will be available in gold, silver, and titanium color options. You can get it in sizes between 5 and 14. In the US, Ultrahuman is fighting over patents with its rival, Oura.
