As per the latest reports, Google is finally rolling out an updated weather card in Gemini for Wear OS-powered smartwatches. The change follows a similar update that recently appeared on Android phones. The refreshed card makes it easier to check temperature, precipitation, and wind forecasts directly from the watch. It also introduces clearer icons, a better layout for hourly weather, and a quick option to switch between Celsius and Fahrenheit.
Google brings the new updated weather card in Gemini for Wear OS
Google is gradually bringing Gemini’s new and updated weather card design from Android to Wear OS. Until now, when users asked Gemini about the weather, the assistant showed a simple vertical list of information. While it worked well, the advanced details were missing, and the user had to scroll down to find more information. However, the new design finally fixes it. The updated UI improves this experience by showing hourly temperature data in a grid layout. This allows more information to appear on the screen at once.
Further, the refreshed weather card also adds new and clearer icons for different weather conditions. This makes the interface easier to understand at a glance. Another useful addition is a quick toggle that lets users switch between Celsius and Fahrenheit directly from the weather card. The hourly forecast section can also be collapsed. It is designed to help users keep the screen clean when they only want a quick look at the current weather.
Updated UI allows users to view more information at a glance
The updated weather card appears to be arriving through a server-side rollout connected to Gemini on the Wear OS app version 1.28.1695. Since it is a server-controlled update, some users may see the new interface earlier than others. Even if the app is updated, the new weather card may take some time to appear on all supported smartwatches. So if your compatible watch doesn’t have the new weather card yet, there’s no need to worry. It will show in the coming days.
