The Pixel 10a launched about a month ago in most of the world, but has been absent in Japan despite prior success for the Pixel in that region. That’s finally changing, though, as the Pixel 10a is now available for pre-order in Japan and, on top of that, it gets a special “Isai Blue” color that’s exclusive to the region.
Following up on prior teasers, the Pixel 10a’s new Japan-exclusive color is “Isai Blue,” a very deep, almost navy blue color that also makes for a rare fifth entry for the device’s color palette.
Google picked this new blue Pixel 10a color with HERALBONY, a “creative company that works with artists with disabilities to create new culture,” a translated copy of the Google Store listing explains.
Google says (translated):
To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Google Pixel and to express our deep gratitude to our loyal Pixel users in Japan, we have collaborated with the creative company Heralbony to develop a Japan-exclusive model. This special model features a striking “Isai Blue” color, 256GB of storage, and comes bundled with an exclusive bumper case that highlights the beautiful flat back, as well as original stickers. Beyond its appearance, the Isai Blue model also includes a unique wallpaper created by a Heralbony-contracted artist, and an original theme pack that unifies the system’s icon colors to match. Customize your device to truly reflect your personality.
The Pixel 10a in “Isai Blue” is only available with 256GB of storage and only while supplies last. “Isai Blue” is available for pre-order now and ships on May 20. There are also some exclusive stickers and a bumper case in the box, which itself is a special edition.
It also looks like there’s a custom software theme accompanying the special color variant.
Beyond this new dark blue, the existing Lavender, Fog, Berry, and Obsidian stick around in the new region, too.
Pixel 10a starts at ¥79,900 in Japan, with boosted trade-ins on the Google Store through April 27.
