A promo video featuring Olympic distance runner Grant Fisher has inadvertently revealed the name of next Amazfit running watch. A shot of the Zepp Health app on a phone screen clearly shows the connected device listed as Cheetah 2 Pro.
The clue hidden in the app
The most telling moment in the video is not the watch itself but the phone screen visible alongside it. The Zepp Health app interface displays the device name directly, leaving little room for doubt about what the watch is called.
Device names only appear inside the app once software support has been added to the platform. Which suggests the integration work is already done. Fisher, a professional long distance runner and Amazfit ambassador, would typically have early access to unreleased hardware. So it should come as no surprise that the device is already being tested out in the wild.
We also did a teardown of the latest version of the Android Zepp Health app. And yes, there is a genuine internal reference to Cheetah 2, but not an explicit public-facing name like “Amazfit Cheetah 2” or “Amazfit Cheetah 2 Pro”.
The only next-gen reference we found is:

Interestingly, there’s also a Falcon2025 reference.
What the footage shows
The video only offers a brief look at the watch but a few design details are visible. Like before, the case appears round with a sport. But there seem to be four physical buttons along the side (two on each) rather than a rotating crown. A red accent marker is visible on the case and the strap looks like a lightweight band suited to running.
Then again, this may be a pre-production unit. So the final design might change.
The overall impression is of a watch built for training rather than lifestyle use. Which fits with what the Cheetah series has always been about.

What comes next
To remind, the original Cheetah and Cheetah Pro launched in June 2023 as running focused smartwatches built around GPS accuracy and structured training tools. The Cheetah Pro came with a titanium alloy bezel, a round AMOLED display, multi-band satellite positioning and Zepp Coach powered training plans. Battery life sat at around two weeks in smartwatch mode, putting it in competition with dedicated sports devices.
A second generation arriving now would place it roughly three years after the originals. Most people thought the line may have been discontinued, but that doesn’t appear to be the case.
It’s important to note that there are no confirmed specifications at this stage and Zepp Health has not made any official announcement. Even so, the appearance of the name inside the app is a strong signal that a launch is not far off. Athlete footage has a habit of surfacing upcoming hardware ahead of schedule, simply because ambassadors train with pre-release devices long before any official reveal.
The Amazfit Cheetah 2 Pro is clearly in the pipeline. It is just a matter of when Zepp Health decides to make it official.
