The collaboration sees the ‘Swoosh’ and the Beats logo share earbud space for the first time
Apple-owned Beats is tightening its ties with the fitness world, partnering with Nike on a special-edition Powerbeats Pro 2.
Launching on March 20 for $249.99, the Nike Special Edition release marks a significant departure from Apple’s usual branding isolation. For the first time, the iconic Beats logo on the left earbud is joined by the Nike Swoosh on the right.
While Apple and Nike have enjoyed a deep partnership for over a decade—most notably through the Nike editions of the Apple Watch—this represents the first time a peripheral hardware product has received the official co-branded treatment.
The timing may not be accidental, either; it’s proving to be a workout-focused week for Apple, following its announcement as the official technology partner for the London Marathon.

This special edition comes in a sleek matte black finish, paired with a distinct ‘volt-speckled’ charging case that features Nike’s ‘Just Do It’ tagline on the interior.

The launch is also spearheaded by a new campaign featuring LeBron James, emphasizing the secure fit that has defined the line since its inception.
Still an excellent performer one year on
Away from the new lick of paint, these are the same Powerbeats Pro 2 that we first put through their paces at launch in February 2025.
So, most notably, you get the heart rate monitoring that would later feature on the AirPods Pro 3 (and, unlike those buds, still receive a proper experience if you have an Android phone). The earbuds also feature the H2 chip, bringing Active Noise Cancellation and Personalized Spatial Audio to a form factor that is 50% smaller than the original Powerbeats.
While I personally lean toward the AirPods Pro 3 for pure biometric consistency and transparency quality, the Powerbeats Pro 2 remain an excellent option for a specific demographic.
For those who still can’t ‘get on’ with the fit of AirPods Pro buds—or for athletes living in the Android ecosystem who want a full-featured experience via the Beats app—the secure ear-hook fit is still unmatched.
As a result, it remains the most accomplished hearable we’ve tested for gym training in recent years, successfully bridging the gap between a traditional heart rate monitor and a premium pair of sports headphones.
