Raised in a family with ties to public service and industry, she attended schools in both Mumbai and Lucknow before completing a degree in Commerce and Economics. She also holds a diploma in vocational advertising and pursued formal acting training at Whistling Woods International in Mumbai after finishing her undergraduate studies.
Kumra became interested in performance at an early age and joined Prithvi Theatre while still at school. Her early involvement in theatre laid the groundwork for a career that would blend stage work with screen roles.
Career
Aahana Kumra began her on-screen career with the short film Mai in 2009. That same year she appeared in the television project Bollywood Hero and subsequently took on an episodic role as Taruni Sikarwar in the TV series Yudh (2014), a part that brought wider recognition.
Her theatre background includes work with Akvarious Productions and Motley, the company associated with Naseeruddin Shah.
