Aalim Hakim Kairanvi was born on 25 August 1974 in Mumbai. He grew up in a family with a strong hairdressing legacy: his father, Hakim Kairanvi, was a well-known stylist who worked at Salon Madame Jacques in The Taj Hotel and later ran a hairdressing shop from home. After his father’s early death, Aalim began cutting hair as a child to help support the family and learned the craft under his mother's supervision.
