Aanchal Khurana was born on 6 August 1990 in Delhi into a Punjabi family. She completed her schooling at The Air Force School in New Delhi and later enrolled at the University of Delhi, finishing a correspondence degree in commerce. Before committing to a career in entertainment she explored other paths: she began a hotel management course in Chandigarh and studied fashion design, but left those programs when television opportunities emerged.

Khurana first entered the public eye as a contestant on MTV Roadies 8 and won the 2011 season, a breakthrough that opened doors in television acting. Soon after her Roadies victory she moved into scripted work, making her acting debut on Zee TV in Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke (2012) as Charu Garg.
