Aarush Varma was born on 21 May 2007 in Mumbai, Maharashtra. Raised in a family involved in the film and creative industries, he is the younger sibling of Maanya Varma. His father, Amitabh S Varma, works as a filmmaker and lyricist, and his mother, Shruti Anindita Vermaa, is a writer, producer and director. Aarush follows Hinduism and has described a devotional connection to Lord Ganesha.

From a young age he took part in school plays and received vocal training that his mother arranged. These early experiences helped him move from school-level theatre into short films and music video work.
