Aasttha Ssidana was born on 29 May 1997 and raised in Delhi. She attended Springdales School in New Delhi and later completed a BBA with a specialization in Finance at Amity University, Noida. Athletics featured in her childhood: she took part in sprint events, relays and field events such as long jump and high jump while at school, reflecting a sporty family background.

Career

Ssidana’s professional life has been rooted primarily in modelling and related fields. She began working in the fashion world as a groomer in 2012 and that same year entered the Miss India pageant, finishing among the top 20 and winning subsidiary titles in the contest. Also in 2012 she won the Miss India World Supermodel contest held in Sydney. Her runway work has taken her to major Indian fashion events, including Lakmé Fashion Week, Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week, Bridal Fashion Week and Couture Fashion Week.

She has modelled for several noted Indian designers, including Sabyasachi Mukherjee, Tarun Tahiliani and the label Shivan & Narresh. Beyond the catwalk, Ssidana has worked as a dance instructor at the Shiamak Davar Institute for The Performing Arts and appeared in dance videos. In 2018 she served as an anchor for the NDTV Prime show The Perfect Body, Built By Tech.
