Early life and backgroundAayushmaan Srivastava was born and raised in Mumbai, Maharashtra. He attended several schools in the city, including Oberoi International School and Podar International School, where he completed his IGCSE and advanced international studies. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
His family is part of Mumbai's creative community. His father was comedian Raju Srivastava and his mother is Shikha Srivastava. He has a sister, Antara Srivastava, who works as a director. The family has been in the public eye on occasions related to Raju Srivastava's career.

Aayushmaan is professionally identified as a sitar player. He has performed in a variety of settings, from musical collaborations to large ensemble projects.
