He went on to earn a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from Harvard Law School in 2008–2009 and later obtained a Master of the Science of Law (J.S.M.) from Stanford Law School in 2011–2012. Early legal work
While still a student, Chandrachud gained practical experience in Mumbai. From 2005 to 2008 he worked as a paralegal (student associate) at AZB & Partners. In 2006 he served as a trainee law clerk under the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of India. He also contributed as a research assistant to the Raghuram Rajan Committee on Financial Sector Reform under the Planning Commission between 2007 and 2008.
