Abhinav Kohli was born on 6 June 1981 in Jammu, Jammu & Kashmir, India, and grew up with ties to Bengaluru, Karnataka, where he attended Air Force School. He completed a Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics & Communication from R. V. College of Engineering in Bengaluru. His father is Sudhir Kohli, a retired Wing Commander, and his mother, Poonam Kohli, later established a publishing house in Bengaluru. He has a brother, Anirudh Kohli, and a sister, Amanda Rouslin Kohli.

Career

After finishing his engineering degree, Kohli briefly worked with Omam Consultants before leaving that position within eight months to pursue opportunities in the entertainment industry. He entered the public eye by participating in the 2004 talent competition India’s Best Cinestars Ki Khoj, winning the Bangalore edition of the show.

Kohli went on to act in a number of television serials and episodic series. His television credits include appearances in Ssshhhh...Koi Hai, Mano Ya Na Mano, CID, Choona Hai Aasman, Gup Shup Coffee Shop, Jaane Kya Baat Hui, and Sarvggun Sampanna.
