Early life and background
Abhinav Shukla was born on 27 September 1982 in Ludhiana, Punjab. He grew up in Ludhiana and attended Guru Nanak Public School there before moving on to Lala Lajpat Rai Institute of Engineering and Technology in Moga, where he completed a B.Tech in Electronics and Communication. His family includes his father K.K. Shukla, an entomologist, and his mother Radha Shukla, a teacher. He has an elder brother who served as a naval officer.

Career
Shukla began his on-screen career in television, making his debut in 2007 with the SAB TV serial Jersey No. 10 in which he played the role of Arjun Rai. He later expanded into films and appeared in Bollywood projects including Jai Ho and Roar: Tigers of the Sundarbans, both released in 2014. Alongside acting, he is also identified as a photographer and has maintained interests in adventure sports and physical fitness.

The couple are parents to twin daughters, Jeeva and Edhaa, who were born in December 2023; the couple later shared images of their daughters with the public in October 2024. Shukla identifies with Hinduism and is listed as belonging to the Brahmin caste.

Interests and lesser-known facts
Beyond acting, Shukla enjoys photography, biking, trekking, cycling, scuba diving and mixed martial arts. He has described himself as an adventure sports enthusiast and has recounted an occasion on an outing in Matheran where he was stranded on a hill ledge for an extended period.
