Early life and background

Abhishek Deshmukh grew up in Jalgaon, Maharashtra, and pursued an education in architecture after leaving home in his tenth-grade year to study in Mumbai. He completed his architecture studies at Late Bhausaheb Hiray Smaranik Samiti Trust (commonly referred to as Hiray College or Bhausaheb Hiray College) in Mumbai. During school he favoured subjects such as mathematics and history.

Career

Deshmukh began his performing career on stage, appearing in a number of theatre productions. He has acted in plays including Ekda Kay Zale and has also written and directed several stage works such as Doan Goshti, O! Frida, Karve...by the way and Paigaam. His time in theatre nurtured a strong interest in writing and reading that runs alongside his acting work.

He moved into screen acting with television roles and made his TV debut in the Zee Marathi series Pasant Aahe Mulgi (2016) as Punarvasu. He became widely recognised for portraying Yash Deshmukh in the popular Star Pravah serial Aai Kuthe Kay Karte (2019). His film debut came with Home Sweet Home (2018), and he has appeared in other screen projects including the film 15 August (2019).

On digital platforms he has been part of ZEE5 Originals’ Sex Drugs & Theatre (2019) and was credited in web series such as FOMO and Safe Journeys in 2019. His body of work spans theatre, television, film and streaming series, reflecting a varied presence in the Marathi entertainment industry.
