Abhishek Singh (Kabaddi Player) Biography

Indian kabaddi raider from Khurja who rose through domestic ranks to play in multiple Pro Kabaddi seasons.

Early life and background
Abhishek Singh Thakur was born on 3 July 1999 in Khurja, Uttar Pradesh. He began playing sports at school and took up kabaddi around the age of 14 after a coach encouraged him to join the school team for district-level competition. To develop his game he trained at GS Kabaddi Academy in Khurja and went on to represent his school and later Uttar Pradesh at domestic championships.

Career
Abhishek first came to wider attention when he entered the VIVO Pro Kabaddi League as a raider in season 6 (2018). U Mumba acquired him for the sixth season and retained him for season 7. In his debut campaign he made an immediate impact, registering multiple tackle points and producing Super 10 performances. His breakout season came in PKL season 7, when he scored heavily across matches and recorded several Super 10s, earning recognition on the national stage.

He continued with U Mumba for the eighth season in 2021, then joined Telugu Titans for season 9 in 2022. That year he also represented Uttar Pradesh at the 36th National Games in Gujarat, and he credited the high-level practice and match exposure from his Pro Kabaddi participation with improving his game and lifestyle.

In 2023 Abhishek was signed by Bengaluru Bulls for the tenth season of the Pro Kabaddi League. Worn on his jersey is the number 7, and across his PKL tenure he has been known primarily as a raider.

Playing profile and training
Listed at about 1.75 m (5'9") and roughly 70 kg, Abhishek combines a compact build with agility—a profile he has maintained through regular gym work. He is a fitness enthusiast who posts training sessions on social media and often promotes bodybuilding supplements online. His discipline in strength and conditioning has been a recurrent part of his public persona and match preparation.

Personal life
Abhishek goes by the nickname Abhi. He completed his graduation at Aligarh College of Engineering and Technology in Uttar Pradesh. Hobbies he has mentioned include travelling, swimming, dancing, reading, running and adventurous pursuits such as skydiving and underwater diving. He prefers traditional North Indian dishes like makki ki roti and saag, and cites fellow kabaddi player Ajay Thakur among his sporting influences.

Public profile
Raised in Khurja, Abhishek comes from a family with two sisters. He is unmarried. His social media presence, including an Instagram account and public posts, highlights both his sporting life and off-field interests—gym sessions, travel and event appearances. He has been photographed and interviewed in connection with his PKL teams and for his participation at the National Games.

Latest updates
Most recently recorded in published coverage, Abhishek was a Bengaluru Bulls signing for the Pro Kabaddi League season 10 in 2023. His previous season with Telugu Titans preceded his national games appearance in 2022, where he noted the positive effect of Pro Kabaddi routines on his performances and daily life.

Style and interests
Away from the mat, Abhishek has an interest in vehicles that includes cars and bikes, and he projects a fitness-focused lifestyle through regular gym work and public endorsements of bodybuilding products. He continues to train and compete, representing professional franchises in India’s premier kabaddi competition while remaining active on social media.
