Early life and background

Aditya Paresh Rawal was born on 28 September 1993 in Mumbai, Maharashtra. Raised in a family active in Indian cinema, he attended Jamnabai Narsee School in Mumbai and later studied at H. R. College of Commerce & Economics. He pursued further training in the performing arts with a six-month devised theatre course at the London International School of Performing Arts (LISPA) and completed a graduate program in dramatic writing at NYU Tisch School of the Arts.

From his school days Aditya showed a strong interest in sports. He played as a goalkeeper for his school team and joined the Kenkre Football Club in 2009. He captained Mumbai University’s team and spent time in the U-17 Indian camp. He later shifted focus to cricket and received coaching from Chandrakant Pandit and Mohinder Amarnath.

Career

Aditya’s on-screen debut came in the 2012 Bollywood film Ferrari Ki Sawaari. Alongside acting, he has developed a parallel career as a playwright, screenwriter and author. After finishing his studies in New York, he developed a screenplay titled The Queen, which was produced in New York by Theater for the New City. He has written screenplays for various directors and showcased short films and plays at festivals internationally. He has also conducted workshops on playwriting in London and New York.

In theatre, Aditya made his debut playing a Gujarati boy in Vikram Kapadia’s production Bombay Talkies and served as assistant director on Kishan Vs Kanhaiya, a stage adaptation of the film OMG (Oh My God).
