Early life and background

Aditya Singh Rajput was born on 19 August 1990 in Delhi, India. Raised in a Punjabi family with roots in Uttarakhand, he attended Green Fields School in New Delhi. From a young age he performed well academically and after completing his higher secondary studies he cleared several entrance exams for further education.

He stood about 175 cm (5'9") tall, with black hair and black eyes. Known among friends as "Addy," he maintained an athletic build and had tattoos of stars on both his shoulders.

Career

Aditya began modeling at 17, walking in ramp shows in Delhi and appearing in print campaigns. Over the course of his career he featured in more than 200 television commercials for brands such as Davat Beverages, Rite Bite, Idea and Fanta, and promoted products on his Instagram account.

His screen debut was a cameo in the film Maine Gandhi Ko Nahin Mara (2005). He later appeared in other Hindi films including U Me Aur Hum (2008) and Krantiveer: The Revolution (2010), and had roles in Tamil projects such as Boys and Girls (2006). On television he played Rohit Ghosh in the Pogo TV series Cambala Investigation Agency (2008) and appeared in serials and anthology shows including Lakhon Mein Ek (2012), Yeh Hai Aashiqui (2013), MTV Webbed (2013) and CID (2015).

In 2016 he took part in reality television as a contestant on MTV Splitsvilla Season 9. He also created a YouTube channel, adityasinghrajput showreel16, where he posted audition clips and his television advertisements.

Aditya expanded into digital and independent formats, acting in short films such as Mother Daughter (2016), Livin Relationship (2019) and A Bride (2022). He appeared in the Alt Balaji web series Gandii Baat (2019) and was featured in several Hindi music videos including Meri Ashiqui (2021), Dil Hai Koi Khilona Nahi (2022), Dosakh (2022) and Yeh Nazaren Teri (2022).

Outside of acting he was an entrepreneur who owned the clothing label Pop Culture Clothing.

Aditya cultivated a strong profile as a model and on-screen performer. He appeared as a chief guest at events, endorsed brands such as Sprinters Online and Faasos on social media, and had a following on platforms including Instagram.

Latest updates

On 22 May 2023 Aditya Singh Rajput was found unconscious in the bathroom of his apartment in the Lashkaria Heights Building in Oshiwara, Mumbai. He was taken to a nearby hospital but was declared dead there at the age of 32. Initial reporting included differing accounts about the cause of death; some sources mentioned a suspected drug overdose while others cited the possibility of a fall or a cardiac event and noted that investigations and post-mortem procedures were underway.
