Early life and background

Adnan Siddiqui was born on 23 October 1969 in Lahore, Pakistan, and grew up in a family that relocated to Karachi. He attended St. Patrick's High School in Karachi. Siddiqui lost his mother at a young age and was raised thereafter by his father and grandmother. He has several elder siblings and has described a strict, disciplined upbringing.

Before turning to acting, Siddiqui worked at a bank and later began modelling in 1992. His early career in front of the camera included runway work and campaigns for fashion brands, which helped transition him into television acting.

Career

Siddiqui made his television debut in 1994 with the PTV drama Aroosa, playing the character Shehryar. He continued building a strong presence on Pakistani television with roles in series such as Pal Do Pal (1996), Ghulam Gardish (1999), Mehndi (2003), Manzil (2006), Meray Qatil Meray Dildar (2011), Mere Humdum Mere Dost (2014), Sammi (2017), Ghughi (2018), Mere Paas Tum Ho (2019) and Yeh Dil Mera (2020). His portrayal of Shehwar in Mere Paas Tum Ho drew wide audience appreciation.

Siddiqui’s television work has earned him multiple awards and nominations. He won the Pakistan Media Award for Best Supporting Actor for Ishq Junoon Deewangi (2010) and the Hum Award for Best Actor for Sammi (2015). As a producer, he established Cereal Productions and produced television series that include Pujaran (2017), Jalti Baarish (2017), Aadat (2017), Seeta Bagri (2016), Saiyaan Way (2018) and Mein Na Janoo (2019). He also produced and acted in Ghughi (2018), an adaptation of Amrita Pritam’s novel Pinjar. His production credits extend to the 2022 film Dum Mastam, in which he appeared briefly.
