Agastya Nanda is an Indian actor known for making his on-screen debut in the 2023 film The Archies. He is also widely recognised for his family background, as the maternal grandson of actors Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan.

Early life and background
Agastya Nanda was born on 23 November 2000 in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. His zodiac sign is Sagittarius. His hometown is also Mumbai.

He studied at Sevenoaks School in London. While he has been in the public eye due to his family’s prominence, his own professional identity in the entertainment industry is defined by his entry into acting.

His father, Nikhil Nanda, is described as a businessman and is noted as the Managing Director of Escorts Group in the available research. On his mother’s side, Agastya belongs to the Bachchan family; he is the grandson of actors Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan.

He has one sibling, an elder sister, Navya Naveli Nanda. A childhood photograph of Agastya with his sister has also circulated as part of public media around his early life.

Career
Agastya Nanda’s credited debut is the film The Archies (2023). The project is presented as Zoya Akhtar’s Bollywood adaptation of The Archies comics. His appearance in this film marked his formal entry into Bollywood as an actor.

In 2022, it was announced that The Archies would be released in December 2023 on Netflix. Following that announcement, Agastya’s mother, Shweta Bachchan Nanda, shared the news on her Instagram, highlighting the film’s arrival on the platform. Around the same time, his sister Navya Naveli Nanda posted a supportive message for him on Instagram, encouraging him as he approached this milestone.

These public messages framed his debut as an important family moment and placed attention on the film ahead of its release, while also underlining the significance of his transition from being known largely through family connections to being recognised for his own work on screen.

Personal life

He is also known by the nickname “Aggie,” which appears in the provided information and is associated with references to his social presence.

Public profile
Agastya’s public profile has been shaped by two major factors: his film debut and his family lineage. Being the grandson of prominent Indian film actors has made him a subject of interest even before his first release. At the same time, The Archies positioned him among a new set of young performers entering mainstream Hindi cinema through a high-profile, widely discussed project.

The combination of a recognised film family background, schooling abroad, and a debut in a Zoya Akhtar-directed adaptation contributed to early curiosity about his career direction. However, the concrete professional detail available in the excerpt remains centred on The Archies as his debut credit.
