Early life and background

Ahan Nirban was born on 10 March and grew up in Mumbai. He attended St. Thomas Academy in Goregaon West for his schooling and went on to study at SVKM’s Mithibai College of Arts before transferring to SVKM’s Usha Pravin Gandhi College of Arts, Science, and Commerce. He completed a Bachelor of Arts in Film Making, Television, and New Media Production in 2020.

Ahan is the only child of Abidali Nirban and Hina Nirban. His father, Abidali, works as head of production at Rowdy Rascals Productions. From a young age Ahan showed an interest in performance: he appeared on television in a horror show at around eight years old and later pursued theatre with his parents’ support.

Career

Ahan’s professional work spans theatre, television, web series, short films and stage productions. Early recognition on stage came in 2018 when he received a Best Actor title on the stages of Cinta and the Indian National Theatre. He has worked behind the scenes as well, taking on duties such as stage manager for Out of the Box production.

On-screen, Ahan made his film debut in 2020, appearing as Srinivas in the film Shakuntala Devi. He has also been active in the growing web and streaming space. In 2018 he appeared in the Netflix series Yeh Meri Family portraying the character Dabbu, and he later featured in the family drama Yeh Hai Family in 2018. In 2021 he was seen as Mani in the TV series Bhopal to Vegas on Disney+ Hotstar.

In 2022 Ahan acted in the short film Kaun Con Hai, a story centered on interconnected characters from different walks of life. The following year he played Tatsat in the mini TV series Pret Boys, which was distributed on Amazon Prime. His credits also include appearances in several crime dramas on Sony TV and Life OK, and roles in mythological serials including Sai Baba and Jai Shri Krishna.

Aside from screen roles, Ahan performed live in family-oriented theatrical productions. In 2020 he played the lead in the musical Chhota Bheem in Jadooi Adventure produced by Green Gold Productions. He has continued to balance stage and screen work as part of his broader acting career.
