Akhil Kutty Biography

Akhil Kutty (real name Akhil Nair) is an Indian actor and comedian from Nedumangad, Kerala. He rose to recognition through television comedy shows and web‑

Early life and background
Akhil Nair, professionally known as Akhil Kutty, was born in 1996 and raised in Nedumangad, Kerala. He attended Government Technical High School in Nedumangad and continued his studies at Government Polytechnic College, Neyyattinkara, where he completed a diploma in Computer Engineering. During his college years he was active in arts and drama, serving as secretary of the college Arts Club and gaining early experience in impersonation and dance.

Family and personal details
Akhil is the son of Bhunavachandran and Shobha Kumari. He remains unmarried. He is noted to have a tattoo on his right arm. Kutty adopted his stage name while at polytechnic college: to distinguish him from several other students named Akhil, seniors began calling him “kutty,” a nickname that stuck and became his public identity.

Career
Akhil Kutty’s path into entertainment was gradual and rooted in live performance. After finishing his studies he worked in the IT sector at Technopark in Trivandrum while also joining local mimicry and stage troupes. His dancing—he has cited Michael Jackson as an influence—led to invitations to perform with a troupe, and from there he shifted into sketch work.

His television debut came with the comedy reality show Comedy Express, where he initially joined as a replacement. Kutty later became part of the ensemble that won Season 2 of the television show Comedy Stars, and he also anchored episodes of that series. Those early television appearances helped him build a reputation for dry humor and comic skits, and he developed on‑screen chemistry with fellow performers such as Noby Marcose and Pashanam Shaji.

Akhil made his feature film debut in the Malayalam short film Virgin (2020) and has appeared in other Malayalam projects including Pappante Priyapetta Padmini (2021). He has also been seen in the film Mohan Kumar Fans. Beyond films, he featured extensively on the popular YouTube channel The Premier Padmini, appearing in sketches and web episodes that reached a broad online audience. Notable episodes he took part in include Oru Lockdown Aparatha, Palakkadan Thambi, Unlock Aparatha, and the thriller web series Lollipop.

Television reality and recognition
Kutty’s profile rose further through reality television. He participated in Bigg Boss Malayalam Season 4 in 2022 and earned the show’s captaincy on more than one occasion after strong performances in the program’s challenges. During his time on Bigg Boss he was involved in memorable moments that drew attention from viewers, including playful on‑screen interactions around a novelty marriage proposal segment.

Awards and public response
For his work with The Premier Padmini channel, Akhil received a Special Jury Award at the Kalakeralam Gurupriya TV Awards. He has been recognized for his comic timing, stage presence and dance skills, and his performances across television, web and film have increased his visibility in the Malayalam entertainment scene.

Public profile
Akhil is known for combining dance and mimicry with a dry comedic style. He has experience as a sketch artist, television anchor and performer in both scripted and reality formats. Alongside his entertainment work he has maintained ties to the IT industry early in his career. Kutty’s background in stage troupes and college arts activities is often cited as formative to his on‑stage confidence and comic voice.
