Akshay Waghmare was born on 5 August 1988 in Mumbai, India. Raised in the city he still calls home, he completed his schooling locally and pursued higher education in computer science, earning both bachelor’s and master’s degrees. From a young age he took part in acting and modelling activities at school and college, a foundation that led him to a career in entertainment.

Career

Waghmare entered the entertainment world as a model in 2008, taking part in photoshoots and runway shows. During his early years on the scene he participated in and won a series of male pageant titles, including Mr University Pune 2010, Mr Junoon 2010, Mr Freshface 2011 and Mr Personality Pune 2011, achievements that helped raise his profile in the modelling circuit.

He transitioned into film and made his acting debut in the Marathi feature The Strugglers – Amhi Udyache Hero (2013).
