Early life and background

Akshaya Mahesh Deodhar was born on 14 May 1994 in Pune, Maharashtra. Raised in a Brahmin Hindu family, she completed her schooling at Ahilyadevi High School in Pune and went on to study at Brihan Maharashtra College of Commerce. From an early age she was drawn to performance, taking part in school stage events and later anchoring college cultural programs.

Career

After finishing her undergraduate studies Akshaya moved into theatre. She worked with Marathi stage productions, appearing in plays such as Binkaamache Sanwaad, Darshan, 3 (Teen), and the musical Sangeet Manapman. Her first screen appearance came in the 2011 Marathi film Shala, in which she played a character named Akka.

Akshaya gained broader recognition when she joined the television series Tujhyat Jeev Rangala on Zee Marathi in 2016. Cast as Anjali Pathak, she became part of a show that went on to be one of the industry’s longer-running soap operas; the series reached more than a thousand episodes by 2019. Following the conclusion of that show, she took a planned break from acting to concentrate on personal priorities, fitness, new interests and preparing for future roles.
