Early life and background

Akshaya Arvind Naik was born on 12 July 1995 in Mumbai and grew up in the same city. She completed her schooling at Convent Girls High School and finished senior secondary at Ramnivas Ruia Junior College. She went on to earn a Bachelor of Mass Media from Ramnarain Ruia College in Mumbai. Raised in a Hindu family, her parents are Arvind and Asmita Naik and she has an elder sister, Akshata Naik.

Career

Akshaya began creating online videos in 2012, sharing dance clips, festival celebrations and lifestyle vlogs on a self-titled YouTube channel. Her digital work expanded to styling and cosmetic reviews, cooking, workouts and travel diaries, alongside dance content.

Her on-screen career started in television and voice work. In 2014 she worked as a voice-over artist and taught communication skills to children with WeKids Media, while also making her acting debut in the Rajshri TV serial Mere Rang Mein Rangne Waali. From 2015 to 2018 she portrayed Ananya Maheshwari Sharma on the long-running Star Plus show Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, a role that brought her wider visibility.
