Ali Hassan was born Alihassan Turabi on 11 September 1972 in Mumbai, Maharashtra. Raised in the city he continues to call home, he completed his schooling at St. Lawrence High School in Vashi, Navi Mumbai, and went on to graduate from Swami Vivekanand College in Mumbai. He is Indian by nationality and his family practices Islam. His mother is Shahina Turabi.
