Alireza Mirzaeian Biography

Iranian kabaddi raider who rose through youth competition to win multiple silver medals and played for U Mumba.

Early life and background

Alireza Mirzaeian was born on 14 November 2004 in Sabzevar, Iran, and grew up in Gorgan. He began practicing kabaddi at the age of nine. Although his wider family was initially unsupportive of his sporting ambitions, his mother and sister stood by him as he pursued the game. He later attended Islamic Azad University, Gorgan Branch.

Physical profile

Mirzaeian is listed at about 173 cm (1.73 m or 5'8") in height and roughly 75 kg in weight. His recorded body measurements include a 36-inch chest, 30-inch waist, and 16-inch biceps. He has dark brown eyes and black hair.

Career

From a young age Mirzaeian focused on raiding, the attacking role in kabaddi. He rose through Iran’s junior ranks and by 2023 was a regular in national squads at major regional events. That year he competed in the second World Junior Kabaddi Championship hosted in Iran, where his team finished as runners-up.

Also in 2023, Mirzaeian took part in the 11th Asian Kabaddi Championship in Busan, South Korea, helping Iran secure the silver medal. Later that year he represented Iran at the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, China, where the national team again finished with silver.

In the professional arena, Mirzaeian was part of the Pro Kabaddi League auction in 2023. The Maharashtrian franchise U Mumba acquired him as a raider for the league’s tenth season; the published purchase price at that auction was 16 lakh rupees. As a youngster in the sport, he has also named Dabang Delhi K.C. as a team he admired growing up.

Mirzaeian credits coach Gholamreza Mazandarani for shaping both his physical game and his mental approach, citing the importance of mental calm alongside technical skills in kabaddi.

Public profile

Mirzaeian’s public image is that of a young, developing raider who has already collected significant international experience. His achievements in 2023—medals at the World Junior Championship, the Asian Championship and the Asian Games, plus entry into India’s Pro Kabaddi League—marked a clear step up onto bigger stages for his career.

Personal life

Publicly available information lists Mirzaeian as unmarried. His hometown is Gorgan, and he holds Iranian nationality. His zodiac sign is Scorpio.

Latest updates

The most notable developments from 2023 include Mirzaeian’s international medals and his recruitment by U Mumba for the Pro Kabaddi League season ten. These milestones positioned him as one of Iran’s promising young raiders and introduced him to professional club competition outside Iran.
