Early life and background

Aman Chopra was born and raised in Delhi, where he completed his schooling at Ravindra Public School in Pitampura. He pursued higher education in media and communications, earning a Bachelor of Journalism & Mass Communication (BJMC) from Tecnia Institute of Advanced Studies under Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University. He later completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Public Relations from Delhi University and an MA in Mass Communication from Lovely Professional University, Jalandhar.

Aman developed an interest in performing and presenting early on, taking part in college theatre and working as a freelance anchor while still a student. Those activities preceded a professional path that moved from print journalism into broadcast news and television anchoring.

Career

Chopra began his career in print media and spent a brief period working for a public relations agency before transitioning to electronic media. His early broadcast work included reporting for IBN7 (now News18 India). He then spent about four years at CNEB and also worked as a news anchor for Rajya Sabha TV and News Express.

Aman went on to join ABP News, where he spent roughly five years hosting and producing a variety of bulletins and programs. At ABP he anchored shows such as Aaj Ki Tarikh, Ghanti Bajao, Rath Yatra and Kaun Banega Mukhyamantri, gaining a reputation for handling political coverage and moderating a daily 7 pm political debate.

In November 2017 he moved to Zee News as a senior news anchor and remained there for around four years, hosting programs including Taal Thok Ke. His work at Zee News earned him a Star Performer of the Year Award in 2019.

In September 2021 Aman Chopra joined News18 as a reporter and news editor. Over his career he has reported from diverse beats, including on-location coverage such as reporting from the Ukraine border.
