Early life and background
Amanjot Bhupinder Kaur was born on 1 January 2000 in Punjab and grew up in Mohali. Athletic from an early age, she played multiple sports at school and in her neighbourhood, often joining boys’ cricket games in her colony. Her parents are Bhupinder Singh and Ranjeet Kaur, and she has two siblings: a brother, Gurkirpal Singh, and a sister, Kamaljot Kaur. Amanjot attended APJ Smart School and later Government Senior Secondary School for her higher secondary studies. For college she enrolled at Guru Gobind Singh College for Women in Sector 26, Chandigarh.

Her father, who works as a carpenter in Balongi near Mohali, was an early supporter of her cricketing ambitions. When neighborhood boys refused to let her bat, he carved her first wooden bat at his workshop. He later gifted her a scooter when she was 18 so she could travel independently to training.

Career
Amanjot is a right‑handed batter who began formal cricket training around age 15 before pausing for class 10 examinations. After returning to the sport she trained under coach Nagesh Gupta at GMSSS in Sector 32. She progressed through age‑group cricket for Punjab, representing the state at under‑19 and under‑23 levels.

In domestic cricket she played for the Punjab women’s team from 2017 to 2019 and later moved to Chandigarh when she went to college. Following the affiliation of UTCA with the BCCI in 2019, she started representing Chandigarh and was named captain of the Chandigarh women’s team that same year. In the 2019–20 BCCI Senior Women’s One Day Trophy she scored 370 runs for UTCA, and she later scored more than 450 runs in the BCCI U‑23 One Day tournament. As captain of Chandigarh in the Under‑23 T20 Trophy in 2020, she made 184 runs and took 10 wickets in seven matches.

Amanjot appeared in national challenger events as well. She played for India Green in the Women’s U19 T20 Challenger Trophy in 2018, represented India D in the Senior Women’s One Day Challenger Trophy in 2021, and was part of India A in the 2022–23 Women’s Senior T20 Challenger Trophy. She also represented the North Zone in the 2022–23 Women’s Senior Inter Zonal T20. Ahead of the 2022–23 domestic season she returned to represent Punjab.

International breakthrough came in January 2023 when Amanjot made her T20 International debut for India against South Africa at Buffalo Park in East London. She scored 41 off 30 balls in that match, helping India to a 27‑run victory, and was named Player of the Match — a rare honor for a player on T20I debut. India competed in that preparatory tri‑series prior to the 2023 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup; Amanjot was subsequently named in India’s squad for the 2023 tournament.
