Amit Malviya was born on 9 October and hails from Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh. He completed a Bachelor of Business Management at Dayalbagh Educational Institute in Agra (1995–1998) and went on to earn a PGDM in Finance and Systems from Symbiosis Institute of Management Studies, Pune (1998–2000).

Career

Malviya began his professional life in Mumbai’s financial sector. In June 2000 he joined ICICI Bank as an assistant manager. Over the next decade he worked in a series of banking and finance roles: as a business analyst at Calyon from October 2001 until July 2003, at HSBC from 2003 until 2010 where he rose to the position of senior vice president, and later as Vice President – Global Treasury Sales, South at Bank of America in Bengaluru from July 2010 to June 2012.

Malviya’s public profile shifted toward politics in 2009 when he co-founded Friends of BJP, a forum intended to publicize the party. That activity preceded his relocation to Delhi in 2015, when he took charge of the BJP’s IT Cell. In that role he has been involved in the party’s digital communications and online outreach.
