Ammu Abhirami was born on 16 March 2000 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Raised in the city she calls home, she attended Swamy's Matriculation Higher Secondary School in Chennai. Her family includes her father, RK Sundar, who works as a sound engineer, composer and programmer; her mother, Gayathri Vishal; and a brother, Sarvesh RK, who is a music artist.

Career

Ammu Abhirami began appearing on screen at a young age, taking part in television programming such as the Makkal TV show Tamil Pesu Thanga Kaasu and later hosting a children’s program for the same channel. Her film debut in Tamil came with Bairavaa (2017), and she also featured in supporting roles in films released that year, including En Aaloda Seruppa Kaanom and Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru.

She gained broader notice for her portrayal of a schoolgirl named Ammu in the psychological thriller Ratsasan (2018).
