Early life and background

Amrin Qureshi was born on 11 April 1999 in Hyderabad (then in Andhra Pradesh, now in Telangana). She grew up in Hyderabad and attended Siva Sivani Public School. Raised in a family involved in creative and entrepreneurial pursuits, her father Sajid Qureshi works as a filmmaker, producer and entrepreneur and her mother Anjum Qureshi is a fashion designer. She has two brothers: Imran Qureshi and Adnan Qureshi, the latter active as an actor, singer and model.

As a teenager Amrin considered several career paths — at different stages she planned to become a doctor, an air hostess and later work in interior design. After finishing college she initially planned to go into business, but on her parents’ recommendation and inspired by her older brother she shifted her focus toward acting. She undertook formal training at Anupam Kher’s acting school in Mumbai before beginning her film career.

Career

Amrin made her film debut in the Hindi romantic comedy Bad Boy, which released on 28 April 2023. In that film she portrayed a Bengali character opposite Namashi Chakraborty; the film was directed by Rajkumar Santoshi and produced by her father, Sajid Qureshi. Bad Boy is a Hindi remake of the 2015 Telugu film Cinema Chupista Maava and features veteran actor Mithun Chakraborty in a cameo role.

Following her debut, she signed another project with Namashi Chakraborty. That upcoming film is a Hindi remake of the 2012 Telugu hit Julayi and is also produced by Sajid Qureshi. According to information available before her debut release, offers from Tollywood began arriving as South Indian filmmakers expressed interest in casting her. She has said she wants to work across multiple Indian film industries, including Tamil, Kannada, Bengali and Malayalam, and plans to begin South Indian projects after completing the shooting of her second Bollywood film.
