Amy Hunter was born on 11 October 2005 in Malahide, Dublin, and raised in Northern Belfast. She grew up playing sport alongside her two older brothers and began formal cricket training at a young age, joining the Northern Cricket Union when she was eight. Her early development included time at the Shapoorji Pallonji Cricket Academy and playing in boys’ youth teams for Instonians and NCU age-group sides, progressing through NCU Under-11, Under-15 and Under-17 levels.
