Amy Rohinton Dastur was born on 7 May 1993 in Mumbai, Maharashtra. Raised in the city she calls home, she attended Cathedral and John Connon School and later Dhirubhai Ambani International School before earning a Bachelor of Arts from H. R. College of Commerce and Economics. She grew up in a Parsi (Zoroastrian) family; her father, Gulzar Dastur, is a surgeon and director of Bhatia Hospital, and her mother, Delna Dastur, worked in advertising. She has a younger brother, Jehangir Dastur, who is a chef.
