Anaita Shroff Adajania was born on 25 February 1972 in Mumbai, Maharashtra. Raised in the city she still calls home, she completed her schooling at Bombay International School and graduated from St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai. From a young age she collected fashion magazines and clippings, a habit that foreshadowed her future career in styling and costume design.

Career

After graduation Anaita took an internship with filmmaker Mahesh Mathai but soon decided to travel. Observing street style during that break helped shape her eye for fashion, and on her return she began working in the editorial world. Her early magazine experience includes a role as assistant fashion editor at Elle and a stint as fashion editor at L’Officiel India. She later became fashion director at Vogue India and founded her own styling firm, Style Cell Company.
