Early life and backgroundAnandha Kannan was born on 22 March 1973 and raised in Singapore. He attended Beatty Secondary School and later studied at Ngee Ann Polytechnic’s School of Film and Media Studies. Physically, he stood about 178 cm tall and had black hair and black eyes.
Career
Anandha began his media career in Singapore with Vasantham (Vishvantham) TV, where he became known as a presenter and host for shows aimed at the Tamil community. He hosted the quiz-format programme Savaal Singapore for five seasons on Vasantham; the show was the Tamil-language version of We Are Singaporeans. His visibility on Singapore television led to opportunities in Tamil-language media beyond the island.
He transitioned to work in India as well, moving to Chennai and taking up duties as a video jockey with Sun Music. Anandha made his feature-film debut in the Tamil movie Saroja in 2008. He later took a leading role as Vikram Raj in the thirteen-part Singaporean series Kadhal Channel, which aired in 2012. His last listed film credit is Adhisaya Ulagam (2012). Over the years he received recognition for his work as a host and actor, including a Pradhana Vizha award for Best Host (Info-Ed) in 2011, a Television Actors Guild Award (South India) for Best Actor, and an International Youth Icon honour at the World Universities Tamil Conference in 2013.
