Early life and background

Aneesh Tharayil was born and raised in Kodannur, Thrissur. He completed his school education at St. Antony's Higher Secondary School in Paralam and went on to earn a B.Tech. in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Vidya Academy of Science and Technology in Thrissur. He comes from a family headed by his father Antony and has a brother named Abeesh Ta. Aneesh follows Christianity and is unmarried.

Career

Aneesh has combined a range of pursuits in his working life. He worked in a government bank before focusing on creative and public-facing activities. In 2021 he was selected for the Young Talented Authors’ Camp run by the Kerala Yuvajana Kshema Board, an early professional endorsement that helped launch his writing career.

He published his first memoir, En Neram Thuzhanju, in 2024. The book was released at the Sahitya Akademi Hall in Thrissur, with critic and writer V. G. Thampi handing the first copy to fellow writer Jinsha Ganga. Alongside his work as an author, Aneesh runs a YouTube channel where he posts vlogs about culture, everyday life and reflective ideas.

Aneesh has also taken part in television outside Bigg Boss. In 2024 he appeared in the audience on Sell Me The Answer Season 3 to take part in the question-and-answer segment, and at one point he won the MyG Future Contest.

Bigg Boss Malayalam Season 7 brought Aneesh larger public attention. In August 2025 he became the first contestant announced for the show and was noted as the first male common person to join that season. He reportedly took a five-year leave from his government job in preparation for Bigg Boss. Early in the series he was voted the first House Captain. During the show he was involved in on-screen conflicts, including an episode in which he accused another contestant, Sarika, of not being genuine.

Physically, Aneesh stands approximately 5'6" (167 cm) with black hair and black eyes. He is multilingual, fluent in Malayalam, English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
