Career

Anil Gote has combined careers in journalism, business and electoral politics. He first joined the Samajwadi Janata Party (Rashtriya), also known as Janata Dal (Socialist), in the 1990s. He was elected to the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly from the Dhule City constituency in 1999. After a period of party changes and independent initiatives, he founded his own regional party, Loksangram (LKSGM), in November 2008.

Running on the Loksangram ticket, Gote won the 2009 assembly election from Dhule City. He later joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) before the 2014 legislative polls and won that year as well. Gote has been an electoral contestant at the national level too, standing for the Lok Sabha in 2009 and again in 2019 on the Loksangram ticket; both attempts were unsuccessful.

Ahead of the 2019 state elections he left the BJP and contested on the Loksangram symbol but did not win. In December 2019 he joined the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP). Outside of politics, he entered the real estate sector in 2010 by founding Bull Hits Infrastructure Private Limited.

Gote has faced multiple legal cases over the years. Available records indicate he was not convicted in that matter.
