Dr Anil Kumar Sharma was born on 15 January 1964. He trained as an engineer, completing a Bachelor of Technology in civil engineering at the National Institute of Technology, Calicut, and a Master of Technology in structural engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur. His academic qualifications also include a Bachelor of Legislative Law (LLB) earned in 1987 and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) completed in 1989.

Career

Sharma began his professional career with roles in government undertakings, serving as a senior executive at the National Thermal Power Corporation and the National Project Construction Corporation between 1985 and 1990. He moved into real estate and construction in the early 2000s and founded the Amarpali Group in 2003. The company’s first project was launched in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, and the group expanded rapidly in the following years.

Over his career Sharma has received numerous awards and honours from a range of national and international organisations. Recognitions listed for him include industry and lifetime achievement awards, leadership accolades, and honours presented by business and civic bodies from the mid-2000s onward.
