Early life and background
Anila Kharbanda was born on 27 November 1991 in Delhi, India. She grew up in the city and attended Springdales School, New Delhi. After finishing school she completed a Bachelor of Media and Communications Studies and spent time in Mumbai, where she did an internship in radio broadcasting with BIG 92.7 FM.

Career
Anila’s career has spanned acting, styling and behind-the-camera roles. Early on she worked as a stylist in the film industry and was associated with projects for established filmmakers. She later gained experience as an assistant director, including work with Sunshine Pictures and Raisina Post, and was employed by a media production company, Endemol Portugal, after her internship period.

Her performing background includes theatre work, during which she collaborated with noted practitioners. Transitioning to screen, Anila made her television debut in 2019 with the mythological series Vighnaharta Ganesha, playing the role of Sundari. She then appeared in the fantasy show Aladdin – Nam Toh Suna Hoga as Ruthi Pari in 2020.

In 2021 she was cast in multiple television projects across genres, including Sondhi Sondhi Khushboo Pyaar Ki, the crime-drama Crime Alert, and Na Jaana Pardes. She also portrayed Sukanya in Ek Anokhi Rakshak Naagkanya. That year marked a significant step when she landed a lead role in the DD Kisan serial Mera Desh Bulaye Re, in which she played Mansi, an NRI who returns to India and confronts the realities facing farming communities.

In 2022 Anila was featured in a rap video titled Teri Yaad. Alongside her screen work, she has launched a clothing brand called Aanikhar.
