Early life and background

Anshul Trivedi was born on 2 December 1992 in Vadodara, Gujarat. He spent part of his childhood in Atul, Valsad, where he completed his higher secondary studies. Academically strong and active in extracurriculars, Anshul trained in Hindustani classical music for seven years under the Mewati Gharana and represented his school and state in various youth festivals and swimming competitions. He won state-level swimming events and represented Gujarat at a national-level championship organized by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.

He attended Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda and later studied at St. Xavier’s Institute of Communications in Mumbai, earning a BBA and a postgraduate diploma in Public Relations and Corporate Communication. Before turning to full-time acting, he worked as a public relations executive.

Career

Anshul began his on-screen career with small television appearances. His earliest credited TV work includes a minor role in Sasural Genda Phool (2011) and early parts in Main Laxmi Tere Aangan Ki (2011–12) and Kaali – Ek Punar Avatar (2012). He moved into more substantial television roles with Saraswatichandra (2013), directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, in which he played Pramad, and later appeared in serials such as Ek Rishta Aisa Bhi (2014–15), Love By Chance (2015), Khidki (2016), Trideviyaan (2017), Jhansi Ki Rani (2019) and Balika Vadhu 2 (2021).

On the historical drama Jhansi Ki Rani (2019) he portrayed the freedom fighter Tatya Tope, a role that brought a notable historical character to life on television. He is also the only actor from the original Balika Vadhu cast who returned for Balika Vadhu 2, having appeared briefly in the first season and then being cast again for the second run.

Anshul made his film debut in Prabhu Deva’s Ramaiya Vastavaiya (2013) and appeared in Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela (2013). He entered Gujarati cinema with Pela Adhi Akshar (2017) and went on to lead two Gujarati films: Oxygen (2018), in which he played Shakespeare Joshi, and Kesariya (2022), where he portrayed Agam, a BSF officer. His performance in Oxygen earned him a Best Actor Award at the 18th Annual Transmedia Gujarati Screen and Stage Awards in 2019. In 2022 he was signed for the Gujarati film Dayro. His screen work also extends to the web series Guilty Minds (2022), in which he appeared as PSA Shah.

Beyond films and television, Anshul has been featured in Gujarati music videos including Pardesiya and Meera Ne Madhav No Raas. Music has been a parallel thread throughout his life: at 19 he was noticed by composer Viju Shah during a singing competition and spent several years performing as a lead singer alongside Shah at concerts and religious events across India.
