Anshuman Pushkar Biography

Anshuman Pushkar is an Indian actor and theatre artist from Mokama, Patna, Bihar. Trained under Nadira Babbar’s Ekjute theatre group after completing anMBA

Early life and background

Anshuman Pushkar was born in 1996 and raised in Mokama, Patna, Bihar. He attended S.B.H.S. School Mor in Mokama and went on to study at Vanijya Mahavidyalaya in Patna before pursuing further education at the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Management and Technology in Mumbai. He completed an MBA prior to focusing full time on acting.

Career

Pushkar began his performing journey in theatre. After moving to Mumbai he trained with the Ekjute theatre group, studying under Nadira Babbar and appearing in stage productions associated with the company. That foundation in theatre led him to audition for screen roles while continuing his stage work.

His first on‑screen credit came in 2018 with a cameo appearance in the television series Chandrashekhar. He later appeared in the 2019 mini‑series Kapow, playing a character credited as Show. Persistent auditioning paved the way for his breakout exposure on streaming platforms: he was selected for the Hindi web series Jamtara: Sabka Number Ayega and appears in season 1 of that series. Subsequent credits include roles in Kathmandu Connection (2021), Bhasad (2021), Jamtara: Sabka Number Ayega Season 2 (2021), and Grahan (2021).

Pushkar has described periods of struggle early in his screen career, including a stretch in which projects took time to release and he briefly stepped away into other pursuits. Support from family and peers and mentorship from fellow actor Amit Sial helped him remain committed to acting. He has spoken about treating each director’s vision as central to a production and using downtime, such as during the pandemic lockdown, to work on his craft.

Public profile

Physically, Pushkar is listed at approximately 170 cm (5 ft 7 in) with black hair and black eyes. He is unmarried. His family includes his late father Virendra Prasad Singh, a brother Ashutosh Kumar Singh and a sister Aloka Singh; his mother’s name is not listed.

Away from work, Pushkar is a dog lover and owns a pet dog named Maxy. He enjoys riding his Royal Enfield motorcycle, reading, playing cricket when time permits, and maintaining fitness through regular gym workouts. He also visits religious places with family and friends.

Latest updates

In interviews he has recounted the long lead times on some productions and the challenges that accompanied early career setbacks. After the release of the first season of Jamtara he used the subsequent lockdown to focus on improving his acting skills. For family reasons he has returned to his hometown area at times while waiting for new shoots to begin.
