Early life and background

Antara Srivastava was born on 20 July 1994 in Mumbai, Maharashtra. Raised in the city she still calls home, she completed her schooling at Oberoi International School and went on to earn a Bachelor of Mass Media in Advertising from H.R. College of Commerce and Economics, Mumbai. She grew up in a family that included her father, comedian Raju Srivastava, her mother Shikha Srivastava, and a younger brother, Aayushmaan Srivastava, who plays the sitar.

From a young age Antara displayed courage and presence of mind: in 2006 she was honoured with the National Bravery Award after an incident in which she helped her mother during a home invasion. That episode, she has said in past interviews, had a lasting impact on her.

Career

Antara’s professional work has been split between acting and roles behind the camera. She started working in production in 2013, gaining experience as an assistant producer and assistant director. Early credits from this period include work on projects such as Phullu (2017), Paltan (2018), The Job (2018), Pataakha (2018), and the web production Speed Dial (2021).
