Early life and background

Anushka Luhar was born on 3 November 1998 in Vadodara, Gujarat. She grew up in Vadodara and completed her schooling at Navrachana International School. She went on to earn a bachelor's degree in cell and molecular biology from The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda. From an early age she participated in sports: she captained her school sports team and competed at a national level in football and at a state level in table tennis.

Career

Anushka began her professional journey in modelling. She trained with the Times Talent agency in Mumbai and received pageant coaching at the Tiara Institute in New Delhi. In 2017 she was a finalist in the Miss Diva Gujarat contest and the following year she placed among the top five in the Fbb Campus Princess competition and was fifth runner-up at The Tiara Queen contest by TGPC.

Her breakthrough came in 2018 when she was crowned Femina Miss India Gujarat. Representing Gujarat at Femina Miss India 2018, she also won the title for Best Walk in a Swimsuit. That year she walked the ramp at Bombay Times Fashion Week for designer Hema Kaul and was ranked fourth on Ahmedabad Times’ list of the Top 30 Most Desirable Women of 2018.

Following her pageant success, Anushka transitioned into acting. She made her film debut in the Hindi movie State of Siege: Temple Attack (2021) in the role of Sejal. On the web and streaming front she appeared as Susheela in the historical series Chhatrasal (2021) and has been part of shows including It Happened In Calcutta (2021) on ALTBalaji and Dr Arora (2022) on SonyLIV, in which she played the character Payal.

Outside film and series work, Anushka has featured in commercials for brands such as Malabar Gold & Diamonds, Kiro Beauty, and Dollar Bigboss. She is trained in Bharatanatyam and performed the dance for her talent round during Femina Miss India West 2018 after studying under teacher Rema Shrikant.
