Anushka Ranjan Kapoor was born on 1 October 1990 in Mumbai, India. Raised in the same city she calls home, she attended Jamnabai Narsee School in Mumbai and pursued further training in the performing arts at several institutions, including Loreto House College in Kolkata, Whistling Woods in Mumbai, the ITA School of Performing Arts and the Anupam Kher School of Acting. She holds a diploma in acting and is a trained Kathak dancer under Guruji Viru Krishna.
