Anya Rangaswami was born in Pune, Maharashtra, in 1989. She grew up in a family with creative ties: her father, Anant Rangaswami, is associated with Kyoorius in Mumbai and her mother, Meeta Binky Rangaswami, works as a watercolour artist. Anya has a brother, Rohan Rangaswami, and her extended family includes actor and TV host Kubbra Sait by marriage.

Anya completed undergraduate studies in Mass Media and continued her education in design.
