Aparna Bisht Yadav was born on 5 February 1989 in Uttarakhand and raised in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. She attended City Montessori School and Loreto Convent Intermediate College in Lucknow. She later pursued higher studies at the University of Manchester, earning a master’s degree in international relations and politics. Apart from formal education, she trained in classical music for nine years at Bhatkhande Sangeet Vishwavidyalaya and is a trained classical singer who also plays the veena.

Career

Aparna entered public life as a politician. She contested the 2017 Uttar Pradesh assembly elections from Lucknow Cantonment as a Samajwadi Party candidate, where she was defeated by the BJP candidate Rita Bahuguna Joshi. In January 2022 she left the Samajwadi Party and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party ahead of the state elections. She has said she was inspired by the policies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and joined the BJP to better serve the nation.
